President Gordana Siljanovska Davkova received representatives of the National Philharmonic on the occasion of the 80th anniversary of its founding.
At the meeting, which was attended by Aleksandar Kotevski, acting director, former directors Melpomeni Korneti and Maja Canacevic, concertmaster nna Kondratenko, retired concertmaster Rumen Dimitriev, as well as Angelina Dimoska from the National Philharmonic, President Siljanovska Davkova, congratulating the great jubilee, emphasized that this significant cultural institution, as the only permanent representative of symphonic creativity on the Macedonian music scene, attracts domestic and international audiences with its rich and diverse repertoire.
The President assessed that in recent years, through its unforgettable concerts in the country and around the world, which included works by world classics, but also by Macedonian musical greats, the Philharmonic has built its own specific image, by which it is a recognizable institution today.
At the meeting, the representatives of the Philharmonic introduced the President to the birthday season titled “Odyssey” which features performances and presentations by top foreign and Macedonian soloists, masterpieces of symphony, concert music and premiere performances of works by domestic musical creators. They also informed about the program policy of this institution, which contains a new form of expression enriched in genre and aesthetics for different audience profiles, and which also includes educational symphony concerts for the youngest.
