President Gordana Siljanovska Davkova visited today the General Staff of the Army and the Ministry of Defense.
During the visit, President Siljanovska Davkova held meetings with the Minister of Defense, Vlado Misajlovski, with the Chief of the General Staff, Lieutenant-Colonel General Vasko Gjurcinovski, as well as with the generals in the Army and managers in the Ministry.
At the meetings, the President Siljanovska Davkova was informed about the current situation, the processes of transformation and modernization and equipping, the training and activities that are important for the execution of the mission of the Army, as well as the participation in the operations we contribute to the collective security with.
President Siljanovska Davkova said that in the Army, as an institution with the greatest trust in the state and a proven ally in the Alliance, further investment is necessary to improve living and working conditions in all accommodation facilities. She expressed expectation that the Army, as before, will continue with the same commitment to fulfill its constitutional duty to protect territorial integrity and independence, and that the army members will continue to be an example of professionalism, discipline and dedication, as befits a member state of NATO.
