President Gordana Siljanovska-Davkova, in her capacity as patron, awarded the winners of the 39th Ohrid Swimming Marathon.
At this prestigious international sports event, which was held in Ohrid for the 39th time, winner in the women’s competition and winner of the laurel wreath was the Argentine swimmer Mayte Alen Puka, while winner in the men’s competition and winner of the laurel wreath was the Italian swimmer Alessio Occhipinti. The 17-year-old Macedonian swimmer, Petar Cekov, came third, winning the bronze medal.
Siljanovska-Davkova congratulated the winners and all participants of the marathon. Expressing her recognition for their endurance, dedication and sportsmanship, she wished them good health and new sporting successes.
This year, 16 swimmers from 8 countries competed on the “Klime Savin” course, 25 kilometers long from St. Naum to the Ohrid Port: 11 in the men’s competition and 5 in the women’s competition, including 4 Macedonian competitors.
