5 November 2026 | Press Releases

President Gordana Siljanovska-Davkova held a working meeting with the ambassadors of the member states of the “Friends of the Western Balkans” group, focusing on regional cooperation and the European perspective of the Western Balkan countries.

At the meeting with Irena Andrassy (Croatia), Ioannis Vrailas (Greece), Balint Odor (Hungary), Vincenzo Celeste (Italy), Juraj Nociar (Slovakia) and Vladimír Bartl (Czech Republic), she expressed her gratitude for their support.

She said that, despite the blockade in the accession process, the solid level of alignment of national legislation with the European Union law, as well as the full alignment with the EU’s Common Foreign and Security Policy, reaffirms the Macedonian commitment to the European integration process.

As further evidence thereof, she pointed to the accelerated implementation of the Reform Agenda, a point also noted in this year’s European Commission report.

Siljanovska-Davkova expressed expectation that the intensification of the Macedonian accession process and the integration of the region would be a priority for the upcoming presidencies of the Council of the European Union, particularly during the presidencies of Greece and Italy, as friends of the Western Balkans.
