President Stevo Pendarovski, on the occasion of the celebration of December 21 – Day of Turkish Language Teaching, sent a congratulatory message to the members of the Turkish community in the Republic of North Macedonia.
Dear fellow citizens of the Turkish community,
I congratulate you most cordially December 21 – the Day of Turkish Language Teaching and wish you a lot of health, joy and prosperity.
This day is connected with the beginnings of the free Macedonian state and the Declaration of ASNOM on the basic rights of citizens, which guarantees the right to a free national life for non-majority communities. One of the first fruits of that declaration was mother tongue teaching for several communities, including the Turkish. From then until today, Turkish language education contributes to the maintenance of Turkish identity, culture and tradition and nurturing coexistence in the Macedonian multi-ethnic, multilingual and multi-religious society.
As loyal citizens of the Republic of North Macedonia, members of the Turkish community are at the same time a bridge for cooperation with the friendly Republic of Turkey.
Dear fellow citizens,
Only united can we overcome all the challenges we face as a country and society. I believe that the members of the Turkish community will continue to make their significant contribution to building a stable, just and prosperous state for all.
