As part of the Open Cabinet activity, the Cabinet of the President was visited today by female patients from the Association for Help and Support of Cancer Patients “Ljubov sme – Jemi dashuri” and health workers from PHI University Clinic for Radiotherapy and Oncology.
The visitors were presented with historical data about the building, were informed about the work and competences of President Pendarovski, and visited the premises where official and working meetings are held. In the Mosaic Hall, they had the opportunity to look at the impressive diptych “Macedonia – Bright Country” and “Macedonia Remembers”, made by academician Gligor Chemerski.
The visit is organized on the occasion of October – a month to raise awareness for the fight against breast cancer, and today the visitors had the opportunity to talk with President Stevo Pendarovski and his wife, Elizabeta Gjorgievska, during which they expressed their gratitude for their support and cooperation so far. Also, they informed President Pendarovski and his Wife of the challenges faced by patients and health workers in connection with this disease in our country.
Presenting their work so far, the Association “Ljubov sme – Jemi dashuri” informed about their activities aimed at facilitating the path of oncology patients to their improved health, as well as their families who accompany them in the fight against the disease. At the same time, they informed about the cooperation with the Ministry of Health, especially with the Clinic for Oncology and Radiotherapy, within which there is a Psychological Cabinet and a library with a fund of books donated by the patients themselves.
Expressing support for the activities to increase awareness of the fight against breast cancer, President Pendarovski and his Wife said that they are of great importance, especially for encouraging self-examinations and regular controls, which are crucial in the timely detection and prevention of this disease.
Open Cabinet is part of the Face to Face with the President project, initiated to enable direct meetings of citizens with President Stevo Pendarovski. As part of the activity, the Cabinet is visited by citizens of different ages and areas of occupation, organizations, students from the country and abroad, as well as students from primary and secondary schools from the country.
