President Stevo Pendarovski received today the Head of the Delegation of the European Union in the Republic of North Macedonia, Ambassador David Geer.
The meeting discussed the political developments in the country after the formation of the transitional government, ahead of the election process, as well as the possibilities for progress in terms of the country’s European aspirations.
Reaffirming European integration as a strategic goal of the state, President Pendarovski pointed to the need to keep the focus on the reforms by all stakeholders in the Macedonian society, after the successfully completed screening process.
At the meeting, opinions were also exchanged on the prospects for further continuation of the negotiation process, the issues that are expected to be the most topical in the negotiations, as well as on the concrete benefits of the process. In that context, it was stressed that progress in the integration of the countries of the region into the European Union will positively affect regional cooperation, stability and progress of the region.
