President Stevo Pendarovski received today representatives of the Scout Association of Macedonia, who introduced him to the planned activities on the occasion of the 70th anniversary of the existence of scouting in the country and the upcoming 13th Macedonian Scout Jamboree, which will be held under the auspices of President Pendarovski in the period from July 12 to 21 in Krushevo.
At the meeting, the scouts informed the President about the current preparations and needs in order to organize the scout gathering, as the largest outdoor youth educational event, which unites and promotes cultural values, friendship and skills. More than 1,500 scouts from North Macedonia and more than 15 countries from the region and Europe are expected to participate in the jamboree, which is organized every fifth year.
President Pendarovski said that he is pleased to be patron of this international gathering, which, in addition to the educational component and acquisition of skills among young people, also contributes to the affirmation of our country. Moreover, the President praised the scouting program and enthusiasm for nurturing the values of togetherness, solidarity, empathy, discipline and teamwork.
In the talks with the representatives from the Association, the President expressed support for their volunteering programs and implementation of educational programs for personal growth and development, as well as for the informal education they practice through activities in nature and acquisition of healthy lifestyle habits.
