Today, at a ceremony with the highest state and military honors, President Stevo Pendarovski welcomed the President of the Italian Republic, Sergio Mattarella, who is paying an official visit to the Republic of North Macedonia.
President Pendarovski and President Mattarella held a tete-a-tete meeting, which was followed by a plenary meeting of the two delegations.
The focus of the talks are the overall bilateral relations between North Macedonia and Italy, the policy of enlargement of the European Union, alliance in NATO and security challenges in the region and in Europe.
President Pendarovski, expressing satisfaction with the traditional interest and continued clear and unreserved support of Italy for Macedonian European integration, said that the integration of North Macedonia and the countries of the Western Balkans into the European Union is in the interest of regional security and prosperity.
After the plenary meeting of the delegations, President Pendarovski and President Mattarella are scheduled to hold a joint press conference at 10:45 am.
