President Stevo Pendarovski, on the eve of May 23 – National Day of the Vlachs, received today representatives of the Vlach community consisting of: the President of the Democratic Union of Vlachs, its founder and representative of the business community, as well as a representative of the Agency for Exercising Community Rights and a representative of the Vlach Party.
The meeting discussed the challenges faced by the Vlach community in realizing their priorities, as well as their active participation in the overall political and social life in the country, as well as the upcoming census during which the President of the Democratic Union of Vlachs, Nikola Babovski, presented the position of the Vlachs on amendments to the Electoral Code and one constituency with guaranteed seats for members of the communities.
The interlocutors referred to the progress so far in terms of exercising the rights of the Vlach community in several areas, emphasizing that greater results require joint engagement and maximum commitment of all stakeholders in our democratic society.
Congratulating the Vlachs on the National Day, President Pendarovski reaffirmed his support for the activities of the Vlach community to promote Vlach culture, language and tradition in the country, which contribute to building our multiethnic, multicultural and democratic society.
