On the occasion of 27 January, International Holocaust Remembrance Day, President Stevo Pendarovski sent the following message:
“This day bears witness to one of the most terrible crimes in human history and reminds us what intolerance and disrespect for differences between people can lead to.
It is our duty to preserve the truth about the Holocaust, the memory of the injustice and the millions of victims, to oppose every evil that comes from stereotypes, fear and mutual misunderstanding, because only in this way will we satisfy justice and have peace.
For this purpose, let us continue to educate the new generations in the spirit of moral values, respect for diversity and the human rights of each individual, build societies in which there will be no room for discrimination, xenophobia, anti-Semitism, anti-Gypsyism and racism.”
