President Stevo Pendarovski paid a visit today to the Public Service MRT.
During the visit, President Pendarovski met with the Director, Marjan Cvetkovski, and the management of MRT and discussed the functioning and challenges faced by the public service, as well as the financial situation, working conditions of employees and the necessary technical renewal. The meeting also discussed the process of digitization of archival materials, with President Pendarovski expressing support for this important process and emphasizing the importance of permanent preservation of audio and video recordings that are our national treasure which contain all events related to the creation and development of the Macedonian state and the Macedonian society.
President Pendarovski also visited the premises where the archive materials are stored, inspected the conditions in which they are stored, and was introduced to some of the content of the audio and video recordings.
During the visit, President Pendarovski met with employees of news programs on radio and television, employees of certain sectors and got acquainted with the conditions in which they work, pointing out the need for MRT to be a real public service that will have the trust and the support of the citizens and will be a promoter of the public interest and a pillar of the media system in the country.
