President Stevo Pendarovski, on the occasion of the 81st anniversary of the Holocaust of the Macedonian Jews, today laid flowers in front of the monument of 7,144 deported Macedonian Jews, in the courtyard of the former Skopje Monopoly, from where the Macedonian Jews were taken to the Treblinka camp on 11 March 1943.
A representative from the President’s Office laid flowers at the city cemetery in Butel, in front of the monument to the deported Jews and in front of the monument to the fallen NLA fighters.
