President Stevo Pendarovski received today Azay Guliyev, Vice President of the OSCE Parliamentary Assembly and Special Representative on South East Europe.
The meeting focused on the overall cooperation of the country with the organization, as well as on the current preparations for the presidency of the Republic of North Macedonia with the OSCE in 2023.
President Pendarovski pointed to the important role of the OSCE Parliamentary Assembly and their efforts to foster a fruitful inter-parliamentary dialogue on issues related to the OSCE’s commitments, as well as to promote the goals of the organization.
Regarding the preparations for the OSCE presidency in 2023, President Pendarovski stressed that our work will be based on good will, dialogue and mutual understanding in protecting and promoting the principles and commitments of the OSCE. The priorities of the presidency, said President Pendarovski at the meeting, will be aligned with the current OSCE agenda, national and regional priorities, and will also take into account current global challenges and trends related to the work of the organization.
The current situation in the wider region was discussed at the meeting, in the context of the Russian aggression against Ukraine.
