President Pendarovski meets with the Albanian Ambassador Reka

The President of the Republic of North Macedonia, Stevo Pendarovski, received today the Ambassador of the Republic of Albania, Fatos Reka.

At the meeting, opinions were exchanged on the development of the overall bilateral relations between North Macedonia and Albania and satisfaction was expressed with the continuous progress. Both interlocutors reaffirmed the readiness of the two countries to further deepen the cooperation in all areas of mutual interest, with an emphasis on the economy, which sees great potential.

President Pendarovski stressed that the two countries share foreign policy priorities, fostering good neighborly relations, cooperation within regional initiatives and the European perspective. In that regard, the President expressed confidence that North Macedonia and Albania will continue the constructive partnership expressed through mutual assistance and support in achieving the common strategic goal, full membership in the European Union. The interlocutors concluded that this is one of the key preconditions for lasting stability and economic prosperity of the entire region.

President Pendarovski and Ambassador Reka also referred to the current situation with the COVID-19 and stressed the need to intensify interstate cooperation in order to jointly deal with the consequences of the pandemic.

Ambassador Reka handed over to President Pendarovski the congratulation message from the Albanian President, Ilir Meta, on the occasion of the Independence Day.
