The President of the Republic of North Macedonia, Stevo Pendarovski, received today the Ambassador of the Republic of Slovenia, Milan Jazbec and the Ambassador of the People’s Republic of China, Yin Lixian.
Both Ambassadors, on behalf of the Presidents of the two countries, conveyed sincere congratulations to President Pendarovski for his election as President, wished him a successful term and expressed confidence that the overall relations of their countries with the Republic of North Macedonia in the future will be further enhanced.
At the meeting with the Ambassador of the Republic of Slovenia, Milan Jazbec, views were exchanged on the current political developments in the region, and it was concluded that the progress of the Republic of North Macedonia in the EU and NATO will positively affect the stability and prosperity of the entire region. In that context, President Pendarovski expressed expectation that the Republic of North Macedonia will become a NATO member in the shortest possible time and start accession negotiations for EU membership and thanked for Slovenia’s support thereto.
At the meeting with the Ambassador of the People’s Republic of China, Yin Lixian, President Pendarovski stressed that the strengthening of the sincere partnership with China remains a permanent determination of our foreign policy and expressed support for all specific initiatives that emerge from the process of cooperation between China and the countries of Central and Eastern Europe 16+1. In that direction, President Pendarovski expressed interest the Republic of North Macedonia to be involved in the infrastructure projects arising from the “Silk Road”, which opens a serious prospect for new investments and strengthening of the economy of our country.
