The President of the Republic of North Macedonia, Stevo Pendarovski, received today the Speaker of the Assembly of the Republic of North Macedonia, Talat Xhaferi.
At the meeting, the interlocutors exchanged views on the overall situation in the country and expectations for the next year. President Pendarovski and Parliament Speaker Xhaferi also discussed the upcoming activities in the process of forming of the transitional government and its functioning, conducting early parliamentary elections, i.e. the obligations of both institutions in that process.
The Head of State Pendarovski and Athe ssembly Speaker Xhaferi agreed that in the year when we expect the completion of full NATO membership and setting a date for the start of accession negotiations with the European Union, confirmation of North Macedonia’s democratic capacity should be the implementation of early parliamentary elections in April 2020 in a fair and democratic atmosphere.
