President Stevo Pendarovski held a meeting today with young talented mathematicians and physicists and with representatives of the Directorate for Technological Industrial Development Zones.
The meeting discussed the course of the “Supporting Scientific and Technological Excellence among Students and Young People” initiative whose goal is to create a platform through which state institutions, private sector, international organizations and socially responsible companies will contribute together to the advancement of opportunities for young people to realize their potential. Moreover, it was emphasized at the meeting that a fund will be created that will stimulate and finance talented children and youth with a focus on science, technology and innovation.
In that direction, the representatives of TIDZ said that the first support has already been provided for the team of high school students composed of mathematicians and physicists for their participation in the World Olympiad in Mathematics and Physics in Japan.
President Pendarovski expressed his support for this initiative, saying that it is to be welcomed because it will enable a model of cooperation between all relevant actors in the country, which, through investment and support to talented children and youth, will provide them with the necessary conditions and resources for development of their abilities.
