Secretary General of the President’s Cabinet meets with Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs of Japan

The Secretary General of the Cabinet of the President, Mile Boshnjakovski, received today a delegation led by the Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs of Japan, Yoichi Fukazawa, who is staying in the country on the occasion of the participation in the OSCE Ministerial Council.

At the meeting, satisfaction was expressed with the positive trend in the development of bilateral relations between the two countries, which next year will mark the 30th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations, and readiness for further improvement of the overall bilateral and multilateral cooperation was expressed.

Boshnjakovski expressed gratitude for the technical assistance and donations from Japan in several key areas in the country, as well as for the help from the Japanese Government during the Covid-19 pandemic.

The meeting also reaffirmed the readiness for deepening economic cooperation, sharing experiences and further bringing the two countries closer together, through the development of cooperation in the sphere of culture, education and tourism.

In the context of the OSCE Ministerial Council, the activities and engagement of North Macedonia as chairman of the organization were welcomed. Given the changed geopolitical situation, the interlocutors exchanged information on the wider impact of the Russian invasion on Ukraine and the economic and security consequences.
