President Stevo Pendarovski, as the Supreme Commander of the Armed Forces of the Army of the Republic of North Macedonia, issued an order to the Chief of the General Staff of the Army to take measures to prepare a contingent of soldiers and material and technical means that would soon be sent to the Republic of Slovenia for assistance in dealing with the consequences of the catastrophic floods that affected the whole country.
Earlier, President Pendarovski in a conversation with the Slovenian President Natasa Pirc-Musar expressed regret and sympathy to Slovenia and all its inhabitants for the losses and damages suffered in the floods, which were of a huge scale, and expressed readiness to help.
Slovenia is a great friend of North Macedonia, home to many of our fellow citizens, our ally in NATO, a country with which we cooperate in several processes and initiatives, and we aim to have a common future within the framework of the EU. The Macedonian society remembers the help that Slovenia gave us in the past in dealing with natural disasters and we are ready to help according to the needs expressed by the Slovenian side within our capabilities.
