President Gordana Siljanovska-Davkova met today with the Governor of the National Bank, Trajko Slaveski, who informed her of the basic macroeconomic indicators and the measures taken in the area of macroeconomic policy.
They discussed the impact of global geostrategic, financial and energy trends on the Macedonian economy, as well as the consequences in industry, trade and construction.
The Governor assessed that the economy is stable, with solid growth, but that import dependence and food and energy prices should be carefully monitored.
The interlocutors agreed that professional and competent human resources are key to the successful functioning of the National Bank and to maintaining the financial stability of the country. The Governor submitted a proposal to the Parliament for election of a third vice-governor.
Macroeconomic stability and a healthy financial system remain a priority for the progress of the country.
