President Stevo Pendarovski received today representatives of the Association of Journalists of Macedonia, as well as representatives of several international journalistic and media organizations.
The meeting discussed issues related to freedom of expression and media independence in our country.
The representatives of journalistic and media organizations informed President Pendarovski about their work in the field of journalists’ safety. They indicated that they expect, through the meetings they held these days with the journalist associations and with the competent bodies and institutions, to better understand the situation with the media in the country and that their mutual cooperation will strengthen.
President Pendarovski emphasized the role of the media in building a free and democratic society and expressed satisfaction for the interest in visiting our country by international journalistic and media organizations that can help media representatives in our country in exercising their rights.
