President Stevo Pendarovski received today the President of the National Democratic Institute (NDI), Ambassador Derek Mitchell, the NDI Regional Director for Europe, Robert Benjamin, and the NDI Regional Director for Asia, Manpreet Anand, as well as representatives of the Institute in North Macedonia.
At the meeting, the interlocutors discussed the overall activities of NDI in the Republic of North Macedonia in view of supporting the democratic processes in the country, promoting youth leadership, supporting the NGO sector, the election process and marginalized groups.
President Pendarovski thanked for the cooperation and support of NDI for the Presidential Center for Political Education and the implementation of the first School of Policies, as a central activity of the Center, which unites participants from different backgrounds and professional experience and is aimed at promoting democratic values. President Pendarovski expressed expectation for continuation of the successful cooperation.
At the meeting, opinions and information were exchanged on the current situation in the country and the region, the situation with EU integration, as well as the country’s cooperation with the United States.
