President Stevo Pendarovski received today Professors Lorna Smith and Jonathan Brandt from Oxford University and Professors Kostake Milkov and Nada Milkova from the Balkan Institute for Faith and Culture, which cooperates with several Macedonian academic and higher education institutions through the “Oxford Connection” program.
At the meeting, President Pendarovski was informed about the activities within the “Oxford Connection” program, the purpose of which is to connect the relevant Macedonian institutions with one of the leading places for higher education in the world, which enables exchange of ideas between academics, professors, scientists, students and other intellectuals. The interlocutors exchanged opinions about commitments in science, culture and arts as drivers of progress with a contribution to the well-being of people in society.
This afternoon in the President’s Cabinet, as part of the “Oxford Connection” program, two of the lecturers, Jessica Pointing, a PhD candidate in physics at the University of Oxford, and Daniel Wenninger, an entrepreneur, leadership development instructor and associate chaplain, based in Oxford, UK and in Worms, Germany, will deliver lectures to students and professors from the Faculty of Electrical Engineering and Information Technologies and the Faculty of Philosophy.
Since 2019, over 90 Oxford professors, lecturers and PhD students have had the opportunity to present their current research in the fields of physics, medicine, philosophy, literature, drama, business, film, theology and linguistics as part of the “Oxford Connection” program.
