President Stevo Pendarovski received today the Letters of Credence of Marc Hubsch, the newly appointed Ambassador of the Grand Duchy of Luxembourg to the Republic of North Macedonia, resident in Luxembourg.
President Pendarovski, in his address at the ceremony of presenting the credentials, said that in the nearly three-decade history of diplomatic relations, with joint efforts, the Grand Duchy of Luxembourg and the Republic of North Macedonia managed to build dynamic political relations and a solid level of mutual cooperation in several areas. The President expressed his interest and readiness for further intensification and deepening of joint cooperation in all areas of mutual interest, above all, intensification of economic cooperation. Pointing out that Luxembourg is a founding country of the European Union and one of the loudest advocates of the enlargement process, President Pendarovski expressed his special gratitude that Luxembourg always represents an attitude of optimism in the discussions of the EU Council meetings on the file of North Macedonia.
The Ambassador of Luxembourg, Marc Hubsch, in his speech expressed his conviction that there is potential for further improvement of bilateral relations, primarily in the economy. He pointed out that Luxembourg, as the largest center for investment funds in Europe and an innovative leader in terms of green finance, can definitely play an important role in that regard. Ambassador Hubsch reaffirmed Luxembourg’s unequivocal support for the prospect of EU membership in the Western Balkans and emphasized that the enlargement process is an investment in peace, security, stability and prosperity. He said that aspiring countries should step up their reform efforts, especially in the area of the rule of law, in line with the merit-based nature of the accession process and with EU assistance.
President Pendarovski wished Ambassador Hubsh success in carrying out his extremely important diplomatic mission.
