President Stevo Pendarovski received the letters of credence of the newly appointed Ambassador of the Czech Republic to the Republic of North Macedonia, Jaroslav Ludva.
At the credentialing ceremony, President Pendarovski stressed that the two countries are connected by traditional and sincere friendship based on diverse cooperation, mutual respect and open approach, adding that with the Czech Republic, which is an important ally and partner of North Macedonia, we share common European values of mutual understanding and respect.
Emphasizing that the citizens of the Republic of North Macedonia highly appreciate the support of the Czech Republic for our Euro-integration process, President Pendarovski expressed confidence that we can count on it in the future, especially during the Czech Presidency of the Council of the European Union in the second half of this year.
“In this context, I deeply believe that the further blockade imposed by one of the EU member states is of no interest to anyone and I am convinced that the start of accession negotiations will not only contribute to further stabilization of the situation in the Western Balkans, but it will enable us, as a country, to implement the necessary reforms faster and more efficiently, especially in those areas that are vital to European integration”, President Pendarovski said.
The Czech Ambassador stressed that bilateral relations and cooperation are excellent, and that North Macedonia is a valued friend and important NATO partner, adding that the Czech Republic has been, is and will always be a strong supporter of North Macedonia’s ambitions to become an EU member.
“We will continue to support the enlargement agenda also in the framework of the forthcoming Czech EU presidency in the second half of 2022, with the Western Balkans being our geographical priority number one. We are ready to assist you in your internal reforms as well, sharing our experiences we gained on our own European path, Ambassador Ludva said.
President Pendarovski wished the newly appointed Ambassador of the Czech Republic, Jaroslav Ludva, success in performing his responsible diplomatic office.
