President Stevo Pendarovski visited today the “Alkaloid AD Skopje” company and the “Institute for Research and Development of Alkaloid – Pharmaceutical Corporate Development”, which consists of laboratories for development, testing and production of new drugs.
During the visit, President Pendarovski met with the General Manager, Zivko Mukaetov, as well as with Viktor Stojcevski, Finance Director and member of the Board of Directors of the company.
The management of the company informed President Pendarovski about the core business, the current activities, as well as the investments made during this year. According to General Manager Mukaetov, Alkaloid is an export-oriented company and markets about 65% of its production in almost 30 countries around the world. In 2020, the company made investments of about 20 million Euros and 175 new jobs.
Emphasizing the decades-long tradition in the operation and social responsibility of Alkaloid, President Pendarovski during the visit expressed confidence that even in the conditions of the Covid-19 pandemic, the company continues to invest in scientific research activities, knowledge and of course in human capital.
The Alkaloid Group has over 1,800 employees in the country and more than 530 employees in the branch and representative offices outside North Macedonia.
