President Stevo Pendarovski, on the occasion of the Rare Disease Day – February 28, sent the following message:
Patients with rare diseases deserve full health care and we should not let the unknown and prejudice be an obstacle for any patient. We must provide support for them and show solidarity and empathy.
Not only on February 28, when we mark the Rare Disease Day, we need to raise awareness every day about the struggle of all those who suffer from rare diseases.
If there is hope that someone’s life can be saved or improved with certain therapies or health services, then we must help and provide systemic solutions, appropriate health and social services for patients with rare diseases and their families.
