President Stevo Pendarovski hosted today a reception for the participants of the 54th World Gallery of Cartoons – Skopje 2022 and the Osten Biennial of Drawing Skopje 2022 in the Cabinet of the President, where an exhibition of the most successful cartoons from the 54 editions of the World Gallery of Cartoons was set up.
The reception, besides the representatives from the Osten’s team, was attended by artists and cartoonists from several countries whose works are displayed at the exhibition that was opened yesterday evening in Cifte Amam at the National Gallery of the Republic of North Macedonia.
At the event, cartoonists and artists Dragan Popovski, Vladimir Borojevic and Mati Grumberg spoke about their experiences, thoughts and ideas about the future of cartoon drawing, referring to the importance of culture and art in the empowerment and democratization of a society.
In a conversation with the cartoonists and artists present, President Pendarovski emphasized the significance of the five and a half decades of traditional organization of the World Gallery of Cartoons in our country, as well as the dedication and persistence of the “Osten” brand as an incentive for artists freedom and unconventional expression.
