President Stevo Pendarovski received today Abdullah Bin Mohammad Al-Sheikh, Speaker of the Assembly of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia – Majlis ash-Shura, who is paying an official visit to North Macedonia.
At the meeting, satisfaction was expressed with the development of bilateral relations, characterized by friendship and mutual understanding, and it was emphasized that the cooperation between the two countries has been intensified in the last few years, which is confirmed by numerous activities of both sides. In this direction, President Pendarovski indicated that with today’s visit, he expects further strengthening of parliamentary cooperation, which is a significant segment of the overall bilateral relations of the two countries.
In addition, the interlocutors exchanged opinions and information about the current situation in the Middle East, and in the context of the important position of Saudi Arabia in the Arab world. President Pendarovski pointed out that North Macedonia appreciates the role of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia in the stabilization efforts in the Middle East region. At the same time, President Pendarovski emphasized that for all security issues in Europe, as well as in the Middle East and the region, North Macedonia is aligned with the position of the EU and coordinates its policies within the EU and with NATO partner countries.
The meeting also discussed economic cooperation between the two countries, with President Pendarovski congratulating EXPO 2030, which will be held in Riyadh. EXPO 2030, as President Pendarovski pointed out, will represent added value in the relationship between the two friendly countries, and will influence the Macedonian economy in various areas such as energy, tourism, agriculture and food processing, real estate, industry.
