President Stevo Pendarovski visited today the municipality of Valandovo as part of the “Face to Face with the President” project.
During the visit, President Pendarovski in the village of Udovo spoke with local farmers and stockbreeders, who conveyed to him the challenges they face in their work, as well as their considerations on the opportunities to improve the production and ensure placement of products.
In Valandovo, President Pendarovski met with Mario Tomov, creator of the Select Waste application. It is an innovative way of waste treatment by simply using the application. The project aims to change the way waste is collected and to improve the quality of the environment, and also offers the opportunity for personal monetary benefit for citizens from their participation. The service is currently available in Valandovo and parts of Skopje. Tomov presented his plans to increase the number of users in the municipalities in Skopje and in the country. President Pendarovski stressed that the application is a good example that should be followed in other municipalities.
Through the “Face to Face with the President” project, President Pendarovski has informal meetings with citizens who in different ways contribute to the local community and society as a whole. The aim of the project is to make such individuals more visible, emphasizing their hard work and selfless contribution to the work.
